Our Leadership
Ben Weinberg
Ben Weinberg is the founder of English from A to Z, an international English online learning platform designed to help students build real-world fluency in different proficiency areas of the English language.
With over a decade of experience in education and more than five years teaching English professionally, Ben has worked with learners from dozens of countries across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. He earned his TEFL/TESOL certification from the International TEFL Academy in December 2013 and has since taught English in academic, corporate, and one-on-one settings.
Ben has taught for global language institutions including Berlitz Inc. and the Huntington Learning Center, working with students ranging from absolute beginners to advanced professionals. His teaching approach emphasizes practical communication, confidence-building, and cultural awareness, which are skills students actually use outside the classroom and in the real world.
Internationally, Ben spent a year living in Istanbul, Turkey, where he taught English to high school students and provided private instruction to Turkish adults. He later lived in Medellín, Colombia, volunteering at a public high school as part of Colombia’s national Bilingual Colombia initiative. There, he worked through a Bogotá-based non-governmental organization in partnership with the Ministry of Education, helping students improve their English proficiency and global readiness.
Today, Ben leads his business, English from A to Z, combining his classroom experience with curriculum design, teacher training, and innovative group-based learning models. His mission is simple: make high-quality English education accessible, practical, and human with no fluff, no busywork, and no cookie-cutter lessons.
When he’s not building courses or working with students, Ben is usually traveling, writing, taking photography, or plotting his next project to improve online ESL education.

Sharon
“Hi students, my name is Sharon! My first teaching position was to create an Intensive Reading Lab and an English as a Second Language Lab for Middle School students from all schools in Austin, Texas. The students were bussed into the labs and we, together, found our way to success.
Since that time, I have taught all grades, most subjects, in various venues as well as virtually. My teaching experience spans decades of wonderful adventures in positive empowerment in education. I enjoyed teaching Kindergarten as much as I liked teaching High School.
Teaching is in my DNA as I am from a long line of teachers. A virtual student sent me a screenshot of me teaching class. I said, “Oh, I look so happy!” She responded, “Ms. Oakley, you are always happy!” That sums it up concisely, I truly love teaching, it brings me joy.”
jessie
Jessie: “As a young person, I had a love of stories and writing, and excelled at my studies, especially comparative civilizations and law. I went on to get a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, and had a special focus in Linguistics, different languages, and First Nations literature. This led to my Education degree, with a specialty in English as a Second Language. In Canada, I enjoy kayaking, reading, and downhill skiing. I am also a recreation leader who hosts activities, and I attend local events, as a volunteer first aider. I have a wonderful family! With 10 years of experience as a teacher of all ages and abilities, I’m proud that my students have become top presenters, published artists, writers and contest winners.”

“Hi, I'm Emma! I'm a TEFL/TESOL certified English teacher with over 7 years of experience turning nervous learners into confident English speakers. I love working with students of all ages and backgrounds, from young learners taking their first steps in English to adults tackling exam prep with a deadline looming. No matter where you're starting from, I'll meet you there and build a plan around your goals.
My lessons pair solid grammar foundations with energetic, real-world speaking practice, because grammar rules only come alive once you're using them in actual conversation. I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love of teaching to every lesson, and I'm always adapting to keep things engaging rather than repetitive. Whether you're chasing exam success, sharpening your fluency, or building English shills from the ground up, I'd love to help you get there so let's make it happen together!”
