“Hello! My name is Kim. With nearly twenty years of experience in education, I am deeply committed to empowering English language learners. Since 2007, I have worked as a public high school ESL teacher and currently serve as the department lead. In this role, I design curriculum, lead professional development, and advocate for emergent bilinguals. I have taught English learners at all proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced.

I earned my 160-hour TESOL certification through the linguistics department at the University of North Texas, where I designed and taught lessons for adult learners and collaborated closely with faculty. This experience solidified my commitment to supporting English learners at every stage of their language journey. In 2021, I was awarded a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on language and literacy studies and have published educational research on adolescent emergent bilinguals. I also have four years of experience as a university adjunct instructor, teaching courses on diversity, literacy, and pedagogy. I’m passionate about helping you reach your language goals and look forward to seeing you in my virtual classroom!”
