Sharon: “I have an outgoing personality, good inter-personal skills and love the interaction of teaching. I am an experienced, passionate and resourceful teacher with 30 years of educational experience. Furthermore, I am an independently published author and a developer of educational materials which are used as part of my teaching resources. I have a Master of Education Degree in Language and Literacy from the University of Cape Town. I am a qualified Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment Practitioner who accelerates cognitive functions by developing ‘Out of the Box’ critical thinking skills. I am also a Japanese abacus (Soroban) instructor as I believe that the development of strong mental math is vitally important for success.

I have diverse interests, from equestrian sport, running half marathons to knitting mini animals. I believe that life long learning and challenges are crucial to keep a person’s mind, body and perspective fresh. I know from my teaching experience that learning should be fun and engaging, hence I endeavour to teach through interaction and play. I believe that by nurturing and empowering people through developing their self esteem and skills, they will become independent, life long learners.”
